General Advice

  • Gain exposure to cytology cases - e.g. attend Northwick Park Course

  • Attend Part 2-focused courses - e.g. Winter School, Oxford, Birmingham, Harlow

  • Attend Part 2 teaching sessions - e.g. Part 2 Teaching Sessions organised by Dr Ian Proctor (see above)

  • Attend study days, Friday teaching sessions, make notes and revisit them

  • See box sets - you own local teaching sets, as well as collections in other trusts if required

  • Look at virtual slide sets - PathXL, ExpertPath, Immunopath, Leeds

  • Read the books - e.g. Differential Diagnosis in Surgical Pathology

  • Attend MDTs - learn about prognostic and treatment implications of histological diagnoses, etc

  • Follow pathologists on Twitter, specifically those who post educational cases

  • Professional Support Unit - Dyslexia support, COVID-19 Wellbeing Hub, Online Wellbeing Support, 1:1 Support

  • Pathology Outlines - free, updated outline surgical pathology clinical pathology pathologist jobs, conferences, fellowships, books.

  • PathCast - regular seminars with a collection of previous recordings available

  • BoSTT (Bone and soft tissue tumours case studies) - mobile source of musculoskeletal tumour cases provided by Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH)
